The Alumnus of the Year is given by the Alumni Association to the Sacred Heart Graduate who demonstrates the ideals of his/her Christian education through outstanding contributions to the Church, Parish, School, and Community.
Bill Myler, 2011 SHA Alumnus of the Year
ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR: Bill Myler ’76 is our 2011 Alumnus of the Year. Bill is one of the great supporters of the Academy having served on the Athletic Association (including a stint as President), the school board, a basketball coach and the parish finance committee as well as being instrumental in several fund raising events. Bill has been on the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation board since 1991 and has served as president since 2002. The Foundation contributed $220,000 to the school operation last year and has now totaled nearly $3 million since it’s inception in 1976.
Bill received a bachelor’s degree in geology from Notre Dame in 1980 and a master’s degree from Oklahoma in 1982. He has been president of Muskegon Development Company in Mt Pleasant since 1996.
Bill lives in Mt Pleasant with his wife Pam and children Sara ‘07, Billy ’10, Bennett ’11 and Mitchell ’13.
