Isabella County High School Talent Contest

SHA Girls Place 1st at Morey Talent Show
Senior, Elizabeth English and freshman, Suhba Vedula did a vocal performance of "The Prayer" and were joined by freshmen, Kathleen Guytingco and Maggie Oblinger doing a dance interpretation. The performance earned them 1st place at The Morey Foundation 5th Annual Isabella County High School Talent Contest. Also representing SHA were seniors Emily Shaffer, Mitch Wieterich (seniors), Will Shoemaker (junior), and Shelby Ebright and Lindsey DeRoche (sophomores) with an instrumental performance of "Sonitus Sed Tractus". Together the performances earned SHA a second place overall school standing. As a result, the Morey Foundation will award SHA $10,000. Click here to see the performance.
2009 National Honor Society Induction Ceremony
The National Honor Society Induction ceremony was held following an all school Mass. Each member was called individually by NHS President, Elizabeth English, to be recognized for his or her accomplishments symbolized by being accepted as an NHS member. Students should be very proud of this accomplishment.
New inductees include: Chris Chermside-Scabbo, Eric Fox, Andrea Guytingco, Karly Hansen, Brent Hasler, Aubry Hire, Hannah Hovey, Elizabeth Hunter, Jess Hunter, Marc Jaksa, Katelyn Maylee, John McDonald, Bennett Myler, Kevin Natke, Lindsey O’Laughlin, Sara Stack, Kyle Stansberry, William Stratton, and Katie Zeh. They joined existing members: Bridget Bennett, Elizabeth English*, Richie Flannery, Charlotte Hulme*, Mitch Kramer, Mike Lilly, Rob Matevich, Joe McGuire, Kendra Norlander, Mitchell Reetz, Garrett Schafer and Priya Vedula.

We are very excited to have these students in NHS for the 2009-2010 school year. There will be a lot of good things coming out of this group.
