Color Day Reminder
This Monday’s color day item is deodorant or bath soap. Next Friday, Students are asked to bring in a toothbrush or toothpaste.
March is Reading Month
Our theme this year is “Read like a champion”. Here are details regarding this week’s events:
Monday: Family game night. Play a game that involves reading.
Tuesday: Wear your favorite hat to school. Make sure that there are words on your hat for everyone to read.
Wednesday: DEAR (Drop Everything And Read). Classrooms will take a period of time, everyone stops what they are doing to read for awhile. At home, you may also have a period of time where every family member stops what they are doing, and finds something to read for a short time.
Thursday: Turn off the TV for a while and read a book together, or play a game that involves reading.
Friday: The classes will be reading with elementary buddies.
Don’t forget to send in your pop cans or return slips to your classroom(s) for the pop can drive!
Literacy Night
A flyer was sent home today regarding Literacy Night for grades K – 3. It will be held on Tuesday, March 16, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. It will be a fun night of pizza, reading and projects. Please return the confirmation slip by Wednesday, March 10th.
ASL Class
A reminder that the American Sign Language class will not meet this Tuesday, March 9th. Class will resume on March 16th.
Latchkey Schedule
Latchkey will be open on Wednesday, March 24th from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Latchkey will also be open on Monday, March 29th through Thursday, April 1st, from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will NO latchkey on Friday, April 2nd, as this is Good Friday. Please make arrangements with Ms. Binger if you will be using latchkey on these days.
Kindergarten Round Up
SHA will be holding Kindergarten Round Up on Saturday, April 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 20th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you have a child who will be 5 years of age by December 1st, and who is ready for Kindergarten or Developmental Kindergarten, please call the office to set up an appointment.
Reconciliation
Children in grades 4, 5, & 6 will have the opportunity to participate in the sacrament of Reconciliation on Friday March 19th, at 12:00 p.m.
