About Mrs. O'Brien

I have been married to my husband, Don, for over 24 years. We have two sons: Jake is 13 and an eighth grader, Jack is 11 and a sixth grader. I grew up in Mt.Pleasant and my parents still live here—in fact, we are next-door neighbors! 

I graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Music and Elementary Education. I have studied vocal performance at the Eastman School of Music in New York, and have recently been working on an additional minor in English/Language Arts at Central Michigan University.

I BELIEVE THAT WE ARE ALL LIFE-LONG LEARNERS. My favorite part of teaching is seeing children’s eyes light up when they are excited about learning. It is my goal that, throughout the rest of the school year, each of my students will fall in love with reading, embrace new ideas, and get excited about becoming life-long learners. My prayer is that we will show love for each other, learn from each other, and live a life that pleases Jesus.
