Dear Parents,
Second graders are so great! I am so blessed to be their teacher. Here are some highlights of the week and reminders:
Math: We took a test over measurement and probability today. You will get their test results in next week’s Friday folder. We are going to start learning about numbers to 1,000 in the next chapter.
Guest Reader: Thank you to Mrs. Neyer for being our special guest reader this week! The children just love having parents come in and reading to us.
Protecting you/Protecting me: Mrs. Wang came into our classroom on Thursday to start the protecting you/protecting me program. This program last for 8 weeks and it teaches the children to stay safe. Occasionally she assigns homework after a lesson. I will send the homework home in your child’s Friday folder. The homework needs to be turned in on the following Thursday. She has already assigned a homework assignment on the brain.
On Friday we watched the shadow Stations of the Cross. They were presented by several students in different grade levels. Mrs. Reinke did a wonderful job helping these students prepare for the stations and all of the students did an excellent job. They will present the stations again tonight at 7:00 pm in the church if you would like to see them.
Learn to Skate- We had our final ice skating lesson on Monday. Everyone did a great job! It is amazing how much each child improves in just four ice skating lessons.
Field Trip- We will be leaving school at 8:30 am on Thursday, March 18th for our field trip. Thank you to the parents who volunteered to go with us; please be here a little before 8:30 so we are ready to leave right on time. Our field trip will take place outside.
