SHA ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
The SACRED ATHLETIC HEART HALL OF FAME was initiated in 1980 to honor the individual efforts that have contributed to the school's outstanding athletic success over the years. Requirements for selection are:
1. an athlete must be at least fifteen years out of school and
2. must have been recognized as an outstanding contributor to the athletic program. A sketch of each inductee along with a brief list of accomplishments hangs in the school hall.
2010 Sacred Heart Hall of Fame Inductees
The Sacred Heart Athletic Hall of Fame received two new members during halftime ceremonies on October 8, 2010. Linda Epple ’90 and Mike Seestedt ’95 brought the total enshrined to 82. Linda earned 11 varsity letters in her career including Most Valuable Player awards in Basketball, Softball and Volleyball. She was All State in softball and had a 43-11career record as a pitcher. Linda works in the finance department at Central Michigan University’s Off Campus Programs office. She has three children at Sacred Heart, Tristen in eighth grade, Lauren in seventh grade and Jordan in sixth grade.
Mike earned ten varsity letters including a spot on the Michigan High School Baseball Coach’s Association Dream Team his senior season after helping the team to a school record 36 wins and a spot in the state semifinals.Mike continued his baseball career at the University of Michigan and spent five years in the Baltimore Orioles organization, advancing to the AAA level. Mike started at quarterback as a freshman and led the football team to the state playoffs for the first time in 15 years during his senior season. Mike is the Manager of the Vendor Management Systems and Implementation for Spherion in Ann Arbor. Mike and his wife Kelly have a daughter, Lilly Ann, born June 8, 2010.
