Wish List
SHA has received several requests to put together a school "wish list" so that parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of the Academy who wish to make a donation can earmark their contribution toward a specific need. Following are the wishes (and the approximate cost) that have been received thus far from the teachers and staff. - Mrs. Mary Beth Roberts, EK - Protective Sand and Water Floor Mat ($45); 3 Moon Sand- 5lb ea. ($16 ea.); Caliphone Spirit Learning Center 4 CDd ($160); Multicultural Rhythm Stick Fun CD ($18); Everybody Dance CD ($18); Totally Math CD ($23); Gel Pens ($15) all items available in School Specialty Catalog.
- Ms. Kaiti Fields, 1st grade - white board to replace existing chalkboard,
2 matching computer table chairs, letter tiles, and a display book cart or shelf (in the style that displays the front of the book).
- Mrs. Marla Schneider, 1st grade -
bookshelf, white board to replace chalk board, new file cabinet, plastic, stackable bins to store materials for hands-on Science centers-- will be shared by both 1st grade classrooms, a new desk chair
- Mrs. Kelly Hansen, 2nd grade – teacher chair; classroom TV
- Mr. Mike Vance, 3rd grade - White board to replace chalkboard
- Mrs. Michele Reinke, 4th grade - TV for the classroom, set of calculators for class (20), cassette/CD player for the classroom.
- Mrs. Jill LaChance, 4th grade - set of calculators for class (20)
- Ms. Amy Gaudard, 5th grade – 6’ x 4’ white board to replace part of chalkboard,
DVD player, stool for front of room, room set of carpet squares, wheasel (dry erase board and flip chart on wheels)
- Mrs. Susan White, 5th grade -
bookshelf (31? x 4?) to fit under chalk tray, whiteboard to replace chalkboard
- Mrs. Hackenberger, 6th grade - DVD player ($50), carpet squares (Dollar Store), 6th grade scholastic AR books, new carpet for students to sit on when they read
- Mrs. Kathy Wyman, 6th grade - computer for the classroom,
carpet for reading area
- Mr. Phil Durocher - DVD player
- Mrs. Mercia Foster, Spanish Teacher - DVD player; Good quality copy of Don Quixonte VHS.
- Mrs. Konwinski, Chemistry and Physics - Projector, lap top, new or gently used overhead projector
- Mrs. Lori Smith, 7th - 9th grade Global Studies and US History - carpet for reading area; stationary projector, crossword puzzles that have to do with Global Issues or History.
- Mrs. Sarah Thaler, high school science - boxes of disposable gloves, filters for our fish tank, cans of Aquadine fish food. Any donations of any old electrical equipment (switches, volt meters, etc.) or medical equipment (stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, etc.) that people no longer need. Also, any textbooks in any subject area that can be used for Science Olympiad training.
