Study Island
The Study Island GLCE Mastery program is designed specifically to help students practice, review, and master the skills outlined in the Michigan Curriculum Frameworks for all core subjects (grades 2-8). Teachers can direct students or allow them to choose online activities by GLCE or Standard in order to gain additional practice in classroom subject matter at their own pace and proficiency level.
Study Island's child-friendly interface moves students step-by-step through the mastery of Michigan's GLCEs and Standards. Each section (5th grade math, for example) contains sub-topics written specifically for each GLCE, offering lessons, robust practice question banks, and detailed explanations. If a student is performing below grade level, the program self-adjusts to add background building blocks to help the student accelerate back to proficiency.
Students are issued a username and password at the start of school. Students may access Study Island from home or when given the opportunity to do so in class.
